The Next Generation of Downhole Tools
For five years DataCan has been strategically developing new technologies. DataCan started with memory pressure and temperature gauges, quickly added surface read out (SRO) telemetry, and then built a customizable permanent monitoring system.
In between, a patented instant close multi-cycle downhole shut in valve was commercialized. DataCan also developed a surface logging suite, our gauge software was adapted to create a digital chart recorder, and the surface transmitters were re-packaged to withstand 30,000 psi test pressure.
Acceleration sensors were added to our pressure gauges for memory and real time pump monitoring. At the same time, a pressure trigger and ten samples per second sampling was made available for our pressure gauges.
Finally, a casing collar locator and external fast response temperature probe were combined to create a leak detector and a geothermal tool was built, allowing DataCan's technology to operate in well up to 315°C.
